Ascend Partners Group’s Managing Partner, Dr. Paul Lanning, has been named Vice President for University Advancement and CEO of the Tower Foundation at San Jose State University. He takes on this new role June 15.
“I’m excited to move back to my hometown and join the leadership team at San Jose State,” Lanning stated. “It’s a chance to go home to join an institution I grew up with, and to advance the Silicon Valley’s only public university. I couldn’t be more thrilled.”
He will remain “of counsel” to the firm while handing off day-to-day operational responsibilities as he takes on this exciting new role.
“I’m thrilled by the continued growth of APG, and look forward to handing over day-to-day operational responsibilities for the firm while remaining involved in an advisory capacity,” said Lanning. “My partners and I are very proud of what Ascend has become, and look forward to seeing its growth continue in the coming months and years with the team we’ve assembled.”
Bill Martone, Elinor Tappé, and Sarah Higgins have all joined the firm in 2015, lending tremendous depth and technical expertise in a wide variety of roles with non-profit organizations similar to those Ascend advises.
